Waiting for Frankenstorm

Well, we’ve battened down the hatches and are all set to weather Frankenstorm.  The eye of the storm will be to the north, so we should be spared a lot of damage, except for the (appallingly regular) power outages that seem to plague this area.  If it’s like Hurricane Isabel a few years ago, we should be okay.  If it’s like the “derecho” that powered through here in late June, there will be problems.

But the storm is supposed to cross central Jersey, where my sister-in-law and her husband live, just outside Flemington, so we’re hoping for the best for them.  Fortunately, they are not near the coast at all, so little chance of flooding although they are almost certain to lose power.  (They always do.  Problem is they’re on well water, so when the power goes, their water goes, too.)

For all those in the path of the storm, please stay safe and best of luck to you all.
